The historic building of the former municipal pumping station at 78 Raszkowska Street in Ostr\u00f3w Wielkopolski has gained a second life as a restaurant venue. We created a complete interior arrangement for it: 130 linear meters of red velour sofas and booths, 260 seats, and 22 tables with RGB LED backlighting. This is the largest order in our portfolio of completed projects. Everything was made according to the designer's guidelines, and the model loge<\/a> designed for this interior, it later became part of our offer.<\/p>\n

The London model was created right here.<\/h2>\n

We usually take a proven model and adapt it for a specific venue. This cuts down time and cost because the design has already undergone dozens of implementations and we know how it will perform over the years.<\/p>\n

At the pumping station, the designer came in with a shape we didn't have. We designed it from scratch, along with sofas with side panels in the same style, and that is how the London model was created. The design proved so successful that it is entering our permanent collection.<\/p>\n

This is what the upper limit of custom work looks like: a project designed for a single interior can become a model that someone else orders.<\/p>\n

RGB LED backlit tables, made to the designer's request<\/h2>\n

The tables for this interior were created from scratch, custom-made. The tabletop is made of VSG laminated safety glass, and the RGB LED backlighting is built into the furniture and shines through the tabletop. This is not a modification of an off-the-shelf table or a purchased and upholstered element, but a structure designed specifically for this venue.<\/p>\n

VSG glass is laminated, layered glass. In a venue where glasses slide across the countertop and it gets crowded in the evening, this has practical significance: when broken, the shards stay on the film instead of scattering under the guests' feet. With twenty-two tables in a public space, this is not a detail, but a material choice focused on safety.<\/p>\n

RGB, on the other hand, means that the venue controls the light color itself. The same piece of furniture looks different during dinner and different on a Friday night, without replacing anything.<\/p>\n

We did this based on the guidelines of an interior designer who had an idea that couldn't be assembled from off-the-shelf components. We don't have such furniture in our price list because each one is different, but if your designer comes with a drawing instead of a model number, it's a conversation starter, not an automatic rejection.<\/p>\n

How we work with design studios<\/h2>\n

The designer brings the concept, and we are responsible for whether it can be made and how long it will take. At Przepompownia, this applied to both the shape of the seat, which was not in the catalog, and the tables with electronics inside.<\/p>\n

We sew in our own workshop, so changing the dimensions, the shape of the backrest, or the stitching method is arranged directly at the design stage, without intermediaries and without an extra charge for a custom version. We also sew using customer-supplied fabric if the studio is designing the entire interior in a single fabric collection.<\/p>\n

One hundred thirty meters and twenty-two tables<\/h2>\n

For the entire interior, 130 linear meters of seating were used, which includes sofas, couches with side panels, and booths arranged along the walls. This is the most of all our documented projects, surpassing the 105.6 meters in the Warsaw Z\u0142ota Bila.<\/p>\n

In addition, there are 22 tables, each custom-made. At this scale, the room ceases to be a collection of furniture placed against the walls and becomes a single system where each successive segment must fall into the line set by the previous one.<\/p>\n

These 130 meters translated into 260 seats, which means exactly two seats for every linear meter. The same proportion was found in the Warsaw Z\u0142ota Bila, where 105.6 meters of seating and 76 chairs yielded about 280 seats.<\/p>\n

If you are planning a venue, this is the simplest conversion factor we can give you: count the meters of the wall, multiply by two, and you have the approximate number of seats in the box. restaurant<\/a> with longer meals it comes out to less, because people sit more loosely there and it's usually counted as 1.2 to 1.5 meters per four-person table.<\/p>\n

A typical restaurant orders from 10 to 30 linear meters from us, so Przepompownia is four to thirteen times more. The way of working, however, is the same at any scale: measurement, segment division design, drawing approval, and only then production.<\/p>\n

Four weeks for the entire interior<\/h2>\n

The furniture was ready four weeks after the payment was credited, which is right in the middle of the 3 to 6 week range we quote for custom-made production.<\/p>\n

Let's put this in perspective. It took four weeks to complete 130 meters of seating and 22 custom-designed tables, while the exact same amount of time went into our project for the Kaffel bakery-cafe in Gliwice, which involved just 5.3 meters of sofa and twelve chairs. When dealing with custom-made furniture, the bottleneck isn't the number of meters, but the moment when decisions regarding shape, fabric, and dimensions are finalized.<\/p>\n

Red velour against raw brick<\/h2>\n

The interior of the pump station is industrial: brick walls, high ceilings, hard surfaces. Such rooms are loud and visually cold, and both shorten a guest's visit.<\/p>\n

The intense red of the velvet on one hundred and thirty meters of sofa does two things at once there. It introduces the only warm, saturated color into the surroundings of brick and concrete, and the soft surface of the backrests absorbs some of the sound reflecting off the hard walls. In a venue with such acoustics, a continuous run of upholstered seating acts as a sound-absorbing panel that happens to be a piece of furniture.<\/p>\n

What does \u201emade to order\u201d mean in practice<\/h2>\n

With such a project, the order is the reverse of a catalog order. First comes the concept of the form, then the selection and design of the fabric pattern, and only at the end production and installation.<\/p>\n

This takes longer than choosing a model from the website, but it yields an interior that cannot be replicated in any other venue. The deadline for such orders is set individually after the design is approved, as it depends on the scale of deviation from our proven designs.<\/p>\n
