Kaffel is a bakery-caf\u00e9 located in a historic venue at 12 Krupnicza Street, right next to the Gliwice Market Square. The interior is tailored to craft-good enthusiasts, and its hallmark is walls lined with antique tiles. We crafted 5.3 linear meters of sofa there. Paris<\/a> and twelve chairs, all made to order, in four weeks.<\/p>\n

We started with the wall color, not the catalog<\/h2>\n

The bottle green of the sofa is taken directly from the color of the tiles on the wall it stands against. This is the reverse of the usual order: first the interior, then the piece of furniture, rather than a piece of furniture chosen to match whatever happens to be in the sample book.<\/p>\n

Both fabrics come from the same Bluvel velvet collection: the sofa in shade 78, and the chairs in 52. The colors are contrasting, but the texture and the way the material reflects light remain the same, so the combination does not feel like two different pieces of furniture placed next to each other.<\/p>\n

Model 175 chairs went in salmon pink, which is intentionally contrasting. In a venue where the wall is the strongest design element, the seating can either compete with it or frame it. Green frames, salmon breaks it.<\/p>\n

With this model, the color decision is twofold, because you choose the fabric and the wooden frame finish separately. We have ten finishes, and we make the upholstery to order, so the chair can be tailored to the interior in the exact same way as the booth.<\/p>\n

Four weeks for the entire order<\/h2>\n

The booths and chairs ran on the same Kaffel schedule. The 175 chair takes 3 to 6 weeks to make, just like custom booths, because it is made to order in the chosen finish and fabric. This is an exception to our rule where chairs and tables ship in 7 to 14 business days.<\/p>\n

Not a single element came from the warehouse. The sofa and all twelve chairs were custom-made, in fabrics and dimensions chosen by the client. The entire order was ready within 4 weeks of the payment posting, which is right in the middle of the 3 to 6 weeks window. On top of that, there is 1 to 2 days of transport.<\/p>\n

For orders where the chairs are on a faster track, we keep the finished components in our warehouse until the booth comes out of production, and we ship the complete set in a single transport. The client then does not pay for a second delivery and does not have to store the chairs at their venue, where work is still ongoing.<\/p>\n

How much is 5.3 running meters<\/h2>\n

That much went onto a single wall in Kaffel. If you want to adapt this to your own venue, calculate 1.2 to 1.5 linear meters per four-person table, where guests sit on a booth on one side and on chairs on the other.<\/p>\n

A train of this length does not travel in one piece. We assemble it from modules up to 1.4 linear meters, standardly one meter or 1.2, so they fit through typical doors and the joints fall where they are not visible. A historic interior rarely has straight walls and standard dimensions, so the breakdown is determined after measurement, not from a catalog.<\/p>\n
