Snake 5 is a triangular wedge with a height of forty centimeters and a 70 by 70 footprint. It is the lowest element of the system and the only one that solves the room geometry problem on its own.
Square modules handle right angles. When walls meet at a different angle or the composition is meant to fan out, a shape is needed to fill that difference. That is what the wedge is for.
Inserted between two straight sections, it opens them at an obtuse angle, so the line does not turn sharply, but gently opens up. Several wedges inserted every few modules guide the seat along a gentle arc without the use of curved elements.
Placed against the corner, it fills the space where a square pouf would have left a triangular gap. In a room with an angle other than ninety degrees, this is the simplest way for the arrangement to come together without sewing a custom piece.
Snake 5 does not need to be connected to the rest of the modules to look and function well. It works well as an extra seat by a table in restaurant, low footstool by loge hotel seat or a single seat in the arcade.
The triangular outline allows several pieces put together to form a star or fan composition, which cannot be achieved with squares alone.
