Box Parma II

Parma II features a quilted backrest with a grid pattern. This is the most ornate finish in this family and the only one that gives the seat a distinct texture visible from the other end of the room.

Nothing changes except for the backrest. Depth 50 cm, total height 80 cm, seat 43 cm, and the same construction as in the base version.

What does a grid do

The grid is a dense mesh of small square fields running the entire height of the backrest. Each field catches the light at a different angle, so the surface ceases to be a uniform plane. In a long run along a wall, this is the only way to keep the piece of furniture from reading as an upholstered strip, without changing the color to a brighter one.

The grid pattern also affects proportions. It divides the backrest into repeating sections, making a six-meter-long row look composed of parts rather than a single long mass. In a small room, this can remove the feeling of crampedness.

Difference from Parma is 40 PLN per meter and results solely from the stitching itself, not the material. Parma has a smooth backrest, and the grid is extra work in sewing.

When a grid makes sense and when it doesn't

It works well where the seating is visible and is meant to make a statement: a room with simple decor, a row along a window, a monochromatic interior where the furniture piece is the only textured element.

It makes no sense in a room that is already heavily decorated, with patterned wallpaper or a mural, where a grid would add a third pattern to the two existing ones. There, a plain backrest Basic or Parma will work better.

The choice is purely aesthetic, however. Cleaning, comfort, and durability are the same across the entire family.

Construction and fabric

Foam selected for commercial applications, identical in all four Parma variants. The stitching affects the backrest finish and does not change the sitting comfort.

Contract fabrics in our range have a minimum of 40,000 rubs Martindale, and the majority of our selection exceeds 100,000. With a plaid pattern, the fabric texture interacts with the stitching, so a smooth faux leather will produce a different effect than a fluted velvet.
