Booth Box I

It is easy to write about the durability of furniture in generalities. With Box I we do not have to, because we have one case that says it all.

In 2016 we made more than 200 linear metres of this model for a large club in Katowice. Eight years later the client came back. The construction and foam were fine, only the fabric had worn, so we reupholstered the whole lot, all of those more than 200 metres.

Eight years of work in a nightclub is a load no laboratory test can reproduce.

Dimensions

A simple form that is a decision here, not a saving

Box I has no stitching, tufting or channels. The backrest runs as one surface, the body is angular, and the whole piece is covered in one fabric.

In furniture that has to work for years, every seam is one more place where the material works and wears faster than the flat surface next to it. A smooth backrest takes washing and scrubbing better, because there is no seam for dirt to get into.

That is also where the price comes from. Box I costs PLN 530 per metre, less than the tufted Monaco at PLN 780, although the construction underneath is of the same class. You pay for the furniture, not for the labour of stitching.

90 cm high, halfway between a booth and a partition

An overall height of 90 cm places Box I between the low models and the Max versions.

Booth Basic is 75 cm high and leaves the room open. The Max versions are 120 cm and divide it into separate spaces. At 90 cm, Box I shields a seated guest up to shoulder height without taking away a standing person's view across the room.

This compromise works where staff need to see the whole room from their station: in clubs, pubs and pizzerias with one bar serving the whole room.

The venues it goes into most often

Nightclubs, pubs, pizzerias and venues where guests sit at tables for several hours and the room is cleaned every day.

The Box I sofa is also ordered for spaces that are not hospitality: waiting rooms, training rooms and waiting areas. The simple body does not impose a character on the interior, so it fits where the furniture is meant to be a background.

What happens after years

It is the fabric that wears, not the construction. That is how it was with those more than 200 metres in Katowice, and that is how it usually goes.

We reupholster only for our own clients, years after the order. The reason is simple: we know our own furniture, we know how it was made and what to expect of it. With furniture from another manufacturer we cannot judge that before taking it apart.

During that replacement the club did not close for a single day. We took a batch of sofas on Monday, returned them finished on Friday, and so on week after week until we had done the whole lot.

Depth 70 cm, overall height 90 cm, seat 43 cm above the floor. Standard lengths are 1 m and 1.2 m, but we make any length and shape.

How much does Booth Box I cost?

From PLN 530 per linear metre. We charge a corner element at the same rate, measured along the back.

What is the lead time?

3 to 6 weeks, counted from the moment your payment is booked. Colour and fabric do not change this lead time.

Is Box I suitable for venues with high guest turnover?
