Presta Meble

Bar booths and bar sofas made to measure

from PLN 380 per linear metre

That is the price of Booth Basic; the final price depends on the model, the fabric and the length of the seating.

We design bar booths for the daily work of a bar: heavy footfall, quick changeovers and spilled drinks. We upholster them in fabrics that resist abrasion and are easy to clean, and we shape them to the layout of your venue. Every booth is made to the size of your bar, including irregular lengths, pillars and corners.

Booth Monaco - custom upholstered bar booth, Presta Meble

Bar Booth Monaco

The Monaco bar booth is upholstered furniture that combines an elegant look with resistance to daily use in venues with heavy footfall. It works well in bars and pubs where the look of the interior matters as much as the durability of the furniture.

Booth, bar sofa or bar couch: it is the same piece of furniture

A bar couch and a bar sofa are simply other names for a booth. It is upholstered seating fixed against a wall or along the line of the bar, in segments whose length is fitted to the venue.

The name usually depends on where the client comes from. Interior designers talk about a sofa, venue owners about a booth, online enquiries most often say couch, and for separate seats along a wall we also hear banquette. Each time we quote the same thing, at the same rate per metre.

How many people a bar booth seats along a wall

One linear metre of bar booth gives about two seats. Along a six-metre wall that means twelve people in a space where chairs on both sides of the tables would fit eight.

In a bar people sit closer than in a restaurant, and that is deliberate. For a longer meal we allow 1.2 to 1.5 metres per table for four, because guests spend an hour or two at the table. In a bar the visit is shorter, turnover is faster and a denser layout does not get in the way.

So we start the conversation about fitting out a bar with a drawing of the room, not with a model from the catalogue. The furniture itself takes 50 to 70 cm of depth, depending on the model, and you subtract that figure from the width of the room. We take orders from 1 linear metre.

Three bar booth models and what they cost

On this page we show three models, each with a different character and in a different price range.

Model Price from Overall height Character
Booth Basic PLN 380 per linear metre 75 cm the simplest form and the lowest price in the catalogue
Booth Parma PLN 420 per linear metre 80 cm smooth backrest, 5 cm higher than Basic
Booth Monaco PLN 780 per linear metre 95 cm tufted backrest, a statement piece at a cocktail bar

If you want a clear separation between zones of the room, choose the Max version, the same furniture with a higher backrest. Monaco Max is 120 cm high overall, compared with 95 cm for the standard version.

See the model page: Booth Basic for a bar, Booth Parma for a bar, Booth Monaco with a tufted backrest.

Construction and seat height

The construction is built for loads that are different in a bar than at home. We weld the frame and reinforce it at the corners, where the seats work hardest when people stand up, and we choose foam of a density designed for continuous use. A guest sits for a quarter of an hour and gets up, the next one takes the same seat five minutes later, and so on all evening.

In all three models the seats are 43 cm above the floor, which suits a table of standard height.

We do not make raised booths for high bar counters. At the counter itself bar stools work best, and we make them to order together with the booth.

How long a bar booth takes

The lead time depends on the model, the fabric and the length of the seating, and we confirm it together with the quote.

If the opening date of your bar is already announced, give it to us when you ask for a quote, and we will tell you straight away whether production can meet it.

For custom booths allow 3 to 6 weeks from the moment your payment is booked. For the exact date, call us: +48 535 080 040.

How much a custom bar booth costs

The price depends on three things: the model, the fabric and the length of the run. A bar by a railway station and an air-conditioned venue in the city centre make different demands on the material, so we do not give one rate for everyone.

We prepare the quote before the order, together with a drawing of the segment layout, so you know the cost and the look before anything goes into production. Before production we ask for at least 50% of the order value on a pro forma invoice, and you pay the rest by bank transfer before shipping or cash on delivery.

In the budget for opening a bar you do not need a line for installation. The construction is designed so that your staff can set the segments in place while carrying them in. On request we will come and install the whole set ourselves.

In a bar the fabric works against spilled drinks

In a bar the fabric has to cope with abrasion, but above all with whatever gets spilled on it. No fabric we offer for venues has fewer than 40,000 Martindale cycles, and most of the range exceeds 100,000. You wipe faux leather with a damp cloth and get back to work, which is why it works better than velour in night venues.

Before sewing we send fabric samples within 1 to 2 working days of a phone call. The choice is wider than the catalogue shows, because we have hundreds of swatches, so we put the parcel together for a specific venue instead of sending everything. The colour on a monitor and the colour under the bar lights are two different things, especially with warm incandescent light, which dulls cool shades. Look at the sample in the venue at the time of day when the bar actually works. We also have fabrics with various certificates, to meet our clients' needs.

Bar furniture beyond booths

A bar rarely replaces only the seating. With the booth we match bar stools and tables in the same fabric, or in a contrasting but consistent combination, so the room looks furnished as a whole.

If some of the seating stays from the old fit-out, we match the new segments to it in colour and backrest height. Chairs and tables are made in 7 to 14 working days, and a custom booth in 3 to 6 weeks. The finished chairs wait with us until the booth leaves production, and everything travels in one transport. The bar gets the complete set on one day and pays for one delivery.

We choose table tops from the AMA 80 and AMA 100 series or the PU LAM 60, 70 and 80 tables. We have worked in the furniture industry since 2005 and complete more than 50 orders a year, so we know which solutions work in a bar and which only look good in a photo.

Why a bar gets segments rather than one long piece

A bar rarely has a straight wall along its whole length. There are usually pillars, a recess by the entrance and a bend by the toilets, so we build the run of seats from segments that go around these obstacles instead of butting into them.

We make a segment at most 1.4 linear metres long, as standard 1 or 1.2 metres. That length comes from the doors and staircases the furniture has to pass through on delivery day. We measure a corner along the back and charge it at the same rate as a straight section.

Bar booths in real venues

In venues where the traffic lasts from morning until closing, comfort depends on fitting the run of seats to the layout of the room. In the Kaffel bakery café in Gliwice the booth runs along a historic tiled wall, and its bottle green is taken straight from the colour of the tiles.

In the restaurant on Dob utca in Budapest we finished the same construction in an arc, with a rounded end, so that the seats close the room instead of dividing it into rectangular modules. We work the same way in bars: we measure the venue and fit the shape, instead of forcing a ready-made module into a place it does not belong.

We make the same booths for other types of venue: restaurants, clubs, pubs and nightclubs. If you are after a particular finish, see upholstered and leather booths, and for an unusual bar layout, custom booths.

Where we start the quote for a bar

Give us the length of the wall, the width of the room and the number of seats you are aiming for. If you have a floor plan, send it; if not, a rough photo with dimensions is enough.
