Hype club in Szczecin: VIP rooms with a fabric designed to order

At Hype club in Szczecin the furniture had three different jobs to do in one space. The main area needed seating that withstands night-time traffic, the VIP area furniture with a different standard of finish, and the themed VIP rooms forms that exist in no catalogue. Everything was created together with the interior architect responsible for the concept of the club.
Scope of the project
| Area | Furniture | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Main area | Booth Paris, from PLN 750 per linear metre | seating for heavy night-time traffic |
| VIP area | Sofa Chesterfield, 7.1 lm, from PLN 2,000 per metre | capitonné tufting, setting the area apart without partitions |
| VIP rooms | bespoke furniture made to order | forms and fabric pattern designed for the theme of the room |
| Property | nightclub, Szczecin |
Three areas, three different jobs
The main area got Booth Paris, our model 70 cm deep and 95 cm high overall, placed as the element that organises the layout of the whole room. The construction there is built for the load of night-time operation: guests sit down and get up all night, and the room is cleaned every day.
The VIP area had to separate itself from the rest of the club without putting up partitions. That was done by Sofa Chesterfield with capitonné tufting, which differs from its surroundings in form and finish enough for the boundary of the area to read by itself.
It got 7.1 linear metres in a U layout, divided 1.5 m by 4.1 m by 1.5 m. The furniture is 80 cm deep, 10 cm more than the booths in the main area, and it is this difference that makes people sit longer in the VIP area. The backrest at 85 cm shields a guest up to shoulder height.
The VIP rooms were a separate and the most individual task.
The VIP rooms have themes, not colours
Each room got its own theme, and the furniture was made for that theme, not for a colour palette. One of the VIP booths is made in Moulin Rouge style, in red tufted upholstery. Another part of the club has an oriental arrangement with a bespoke mural, and the seating there is matched to it in form and finish.
The furniture for these rooms has no equivalent in the catalogue, because it was made from scratch to a design developed together with the architect.
We also designed the fabric pattern
With the VIP rooms it did not stop at the shape of the furniture. For this interior we developed a dedicated upholstery fabric, designed specifically for its needs.
This is the furthest-reaching form of made-to-order work we do. Usually the client chooses from our swatch books, of which we have hundreds, or sends their own material. Here the pattern was created from scratch, together with the form of the furniture, as part of one interior concept.
How such a project runs
The order is the reverse of a catalogue order. It starts with the concept of the furniture's form, then comes the choice and design of the fabric pattern, and finally production and installation in the finished interior.
This takes longer than choosing a model from the website, and we set the date individually after the design is approved. For comparison, standard custom production based on our model takes 3 to 6 weeks from the moment your payment is booked.
We sew in our own workshop, so the architect talks directly to the maker, and a change of shape or dimension at the design stage does not require renegotiation with a middleman.
Frequently asked questions
Do you make furniture to an architect's design?
Yes, including designing the pattern of the upholstery fabric. That is how the furniture for the VIP rooms of Hype club was made, where form and material were part of one interior concept.
What works in a club's VIP area?
Furniture that differs from the rest of the room in form, not only in colour. At Hype this was done by 7.1 metres of Sofa Chesterfield with capitonné tufting, set in a U shape. The area set itself apart without partition walls.
Is Booth Paris suitable for a large club?
Yes, in the main area of Hype it serves as furniture that organises the room layout. It is 70 cm deep, 95 cm high overall with the seat 43 cm above the floor, and starts at PLN 750 per linear metre.
How long does furniture designed from scratch take?
We set the date after the design is approved, because it depends on how far it departs from our constructions. Custom production based on a catalogue model takes 3 to 6 weeks from the moment your payment is booked.
Can I design my own fabric?
Yes, though few people ask. In the VIP rooms of Hype club the pattern was created specifically for this interior. As standard, clients choose from our swatch books or send their own material.
We will advise on dimensions, fabrics and seating layout - free of charge and with no obligation.
